I am extremely excited to announce that Epsagon has entered into a definitive agreement to join Cisco to advance its global Full-Stack Observability strategy, which we are thrilled to be a significant part of.
The last 4 years have been about building the product, growing the team, and providing an amazing experience to our customers, and we’re excited to take our journey to its next phase, helping to accelerate the development of modern applications, all the way from the application to the infrastructure.
I want to thank our customers, partners, investors, and employees. We couldn’t have gotten to this point without your huge support, and it was truly a pleasure.
How it all started
Four years ago, Ran, my co-founder, and I were sitting in his living room and thinking – what will be the next big thing? After decades of work in software development, we immediately identified cloud infrastructure as the next big thing. The world was moving at an ultra-fast pace toward modern applications, comprised of distributed cloud components, creating new levels of complexity.
Speaking with dozens of companies verified our assumption and the huge pain point of observability in cloud-first apps, and allowed us to raise our seed funding and open our first office in Tel Aviv. One month later, we were already traveling around the world, meeting our first customers.
Only 8 months after we kicked things off, we launched our first self-service product to monitor and troubleshoot serverless applications. It received great feedback from global developers and DevOps professionals and allowed us to acquire the first group of our significant customers.
During that time, we also identified the massive need in the market for a holistic solution for observability for microservices. A few months later, we launched the next version of our product which provides observability for containers, Kubernetes, and serverless-based applications.
With our next round of funding, we were able to scale the company and work with the best engineering teams in the world, partnering with customers such as Via Transportation, Deloitte, Farmer’s Fridge, Volta Charging, and Toyota. We opened our New York office and significantly grew the team in the United States, helping us to serve our customers in the best way possible.
Where do we go from here?
Cisco is one of the largest companies in the world. From networking to security to observability, they serve the most significant clients and help them from end-to-end. Cisco has made a big bet on observability, including acquisitions like AppDynamics and ThousandEyes. The Full-Stack Observability strategy realizes that true observability is holistic – it has to address the user experience, all the way from the application to the infrastructure.
This is a big and exciting challenge that we at Epsagon are excited to take part in – building the next generation of observability, with the vision and resources that Cisco already has. There is a lot of work to do and with the expertise that we have from the last 4 years, we are positive that it will be an exciting ride.
